The IHME model is garbage and has always been garbage. It's not an attempt at modeling the pandemic at all, it's just a curve-fitting game with a bunch of parameters they've been changing as they go along. Back at the start of April they had "predicted" that NJ and NY were out of hospital beds as of late March; obviously that wasn't true. They revised it down, the new numbers were wrong too. I don't know why people still pay attention to it.
