It doesn’t have to be inside one of the specific phases. That’s silly. He said he’s going to re-open them after he reviews data regarding other states surges and whether they have been indoors and what kind of Settings they’re mostly happening in. It’s ludicrous to say they’ll never open.
I'm not the one saying it, that's our illustrious governor.
I heard and not happy about this at all. The Gov will destroy all these businesses based on a virus with a 99% recovery rate. Death rates across the entire country continue to decline rapidly.
I thought it was just indoor dining that was stymied.
It is. He is backtracking due to the young people crowded packed together at outside bars especially down the shore. There was a video of one poor young guy who was acting as security at a bar in (I think) Seabright, trying to be nice about asking people to distance, and they are all blowing him off. He's afraid cases are going to start to explode. Down here in south Jersey, they actually are. Hammonton has had a large spike due to the migrant workers who came for blueberry season (possibly some from places with spikes such as California). 5.3% of them have tested positive. Restaurants open in one part of the state means all parts of the state.
I don't want to emulate the mistakes of other states who are having huge spikes. I think our re-opening has been largely successful so far but that is fragile and dependent on others to do what they are supposed to do.
Yes, just the indoors. When asked today regarding when he will reconsider opening indoor dining, he said, "not a matter of days, more like a matter of weeks."
One thing Murphy did not count on was that Borgota Casino now wont reopen until indoor dining is allowed. I wouldnt be surprised if other casinos follow (and they are a huge money maker for the state). Many state legislators are very angry he made this decision without consulting with them first. There will be a lot of pressure to continue with the indoor reopenings. I hope this is just a short pause, and not a plan to keep restaurants shut indoors all summer. Otherwise 6 out of 10 restaurants wont survive the summer would be my guess.
Daughter and young sons (4 still in diapers and 6) from NY stayed over our house in PA. On way back to NY older grandson need to go to the bathroom. She stopped at a Dunkin Donuts in Patterson on Saturday, but they would not let her take the boy into the Restroom. He was crying hysterically that he was going to pee his pants. There were trees by the parking lot, and she let him go there.
Gave her some advice. Go to a Gas Station, preferably one that has outside Restrooms. Yeah, they do exist in NJ. We have used those during the lockdown driving from PA to NY.

The re-opening hasn't been successful because we haven't really had one. Being able to occasionally eat in a parking lot is not a re-opening. We're not going to get big spikes like other states because we already _had_ our big spike. If we stay closed forever (excuse me, "indefinitely") because we might get a big spike, when will we ever be in a position where we can reopen? The possibility's always there.
Look at what happened when we let the government shut down private businesses. Now people just wait for the government to tell them what to do. The government only has the right to shut down the government. It doesn't have the right to shut down private entities
And if they shut down the government, all government requirements cease to exist
