I am getting these spoofed calls with 908 area code but luckily on my Android phone I have a Caller ID verify app that shows it was actually coming from India. These 908 or 732 numbers are actually spoofed. The dumbest thing about these spoof calls is either solar, car warranty, or IRS. 3 things that I don't care about.

When I was in a playful mood, and when I had some time to waste, I answered a few of those "solar" calls.
I informed each of the callers that his company should stop calling me because, "I already own the entire solar system".
To say that they were confused by my response is a gross understatement.

LOL! Love it! A few ideas I’m going to try one day...
- Screaming, “HI! WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? I HOPE IT’S NOTHING!!!”
- Asking, “Are you crazy?!?” then, after the likely no, stating, “WELL I AM!!!” and then laughing like a maniac.
- Mumbling some jibberish, then stating, “You and your family are now permanently cursed. “ Could be a lot of fun with some of these people!
My brother has done the following when he was in the mood to obstruct those fools:
Caller: Hi Mr. X! How are you?
Brother: Oh, where would I start? My arthur-itis and my rheuma-tiz are really painful, and I am so constipated that I haven't taken a dump in almost a week. I can describe my last bowel movement if you want me to. Should I give you a description?
I can if you want! And, my eczema is really disfiguring, but I don't think that my Dermatologist is treating me correctly. Can you recommend a good Dermatologist? Where are you calling from? What is the weather like where you are? I hope that it's better than here because the weather around here is making my arthur-itis more painful. And, my dog is sick. Can you recommend a good Veterinarian? The price of eggs is outrageous! How much are you paying for eggs in your area? What about that Romaine lettuce. Do you think it's safe to eat?
And so on...
After a few minutes of my brother's non-stop nonsense babble--without giving the caller a chance to say anything--the caller always hangs up.

Yup, forgot to post it, but that’s been Idea #4 for me for years.

Another tactic that is effective is to tell the caller to "hold on".
Then, just walk away from the phone.
After a couple of minutes, they hang up.
In the meantime, you wasted their time.

I googled those area codes and those are both NJ area codes, but I never heard of any New Jerseyan from real life with a 908 code before. Unless you mean the callers from India are faking their numbers into NJ numbers.

Before 1997, I never heard of any New Jerseyan with a 973 area code either.
I haven't had the angry telemarketer guy that calls every time and say "Don't hang me up! I know what you're thinking but this call isn't it." Promptly hung up every time.
