Hello friends and neighbors, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
Husband and I are planning a move to Edgewater later this and want to get a better handle on our finances/expenses before we pull the trigger. Specifically, we're trying to estimate the monthly utility bills. We're looking at a house with gas heat and central a/c if that helps. Would greatly appreciate any insights on average monthly electric/gas/water/sewer/trash removal costs . As well as any other city/borough fees we need to be aware of (outside of property taxes obvs).

Thanks in advance!!

Utility costs vary because of size and energy efficiency. You can ask for copies of the bills for the last 6 months from the homeowner. Is this a new build? FYI, there are serious issues with the underfunded Edgewater school budget which may effect the property taxes or classroom costs individual parents may be asked to supplement. There's been a lot in the news lately.

It's a 4bed/3bath place, fairly recent build (2013ish) so the energy efficiency should be reasonable but thanks for the tip re: asking for copies of bills! Also good to know regarding the school budgets....We really just want to be in the ballpark, I know things change all the time.

electric/gas/water/sewer/trash removal costs

The typical cost for NJ towns for this services is about:

$75 / 30 / 80 / 10 / 40 = $235 monthly. That's my guesstimate for year around avg cost of course winter and summer have different cost but it avgs out over the season.
