I am a contractor in NJ. A couple weeks ago I found that I was approved for unemployment. Last Monday I received a deposit for $3,600 for 6 previous weeks of unemployment.
This morning I was expecting to see a deposit for $600, but I did not. Is it held up for the holiday? Or is there another issue that I have to deal with?
OK, thank you for that info. I’m really hoping that’s the reason. This is my first week to receive a normal $600 deposit so I’m really hoping that it comes through and everything works correctly.
The thing that worries me the most is that there is no reasonable recourse for something going wrong. There is no way to call or speak to anyone.
I read somewhere on this forum that a lady who works for the Unemployment office mentioned on her facebook that the 600 deposits are posted every Monday. I've noticed that is true, (I've received about 4 of them so far and all on Mondays). We're basically at their mercy. It's impossible to call anyone at any time.
When you got the 6 weeks worth of $600, when did you (how many days prior to the payment day) certify for those 6 weeks? I just certified last Saturday for the past 4 weeks and I just got the actual benefits this morning but did not get my $600's.
