Can't decide between the two. Have 4 kids. Two will attend the HS, 2 still in elementary school. Wanting a community feel. Neither place has a downtown area, no place to congregate.

Colts Neck from what I understand has isolated homes far from other homes, plus water comes from wells...

Both places need septic... (except some areas)

The right choice is Holmdel but you didn't give much info about what your priorities are

I'd go with Colts Neck. Bruce Springsteen and Jon Stewart live there.

Holmdel's going downhill. Kinda slummy lately. Bad elements.

However, as one resident has pointed out, they do have a Houlihan's. It may be a ghetto chain restaurant, but they make a damn fine mushroom and swiss burger.

You're lacking a boatload of info to go on. Both are nice but I would say Colts Neck is nicer but does it fit your needs? Sounds like money isn't the issue so I would suggest Rumson ,maybe even Spring Lake or Sea Girt.

i like colts neck. your biggest issues with colts neck is the commute since its not as convenient to get to and im not sure what commercial area they have. i guess it depends where in colts neck but you could find yourself inconvenient to a good shopping area.

LOL, pretty sure people in Colts Neck can still shop.

What "commute" , none was mentioned,...........you seem to be assuming..............................again.

Holmdel has its own high school. Colts Neck High School is part of the Freehold Regional High School District. I’ve lived in Holmdel for 20 years, and Holmdel High School’s SAT scores have always been higher than Colts Neck. It’s not necessarily a huge difference in score, but Holmdel’s always been higher.

I hope the above comment by Mightyqueen was said in jest, because otherwise it was nasty and untrue.
