Englewood? Not sure if I'd rush to recommend but certainly go to a concert at BPAC?? (fka Harmes Center) and dinner walk around. Gentrification and what I call 'greyscale diversity' (for sake of PC) has made parts in/around here recharged and looking better.

O/T - Any thoughts on Bayonne? Gentrification there?
I would definately recommened Englewood, the the Towne Center, and all the buildings, all the action and I think Cliffside park would be maybe over an 1/2 hour to Wyckoff. Englewood has an excellent down town, its upscale, its rural, its diverse and getting better all the time.

It will be even better when they extend the train (HBLRT) into Englewood. It may "Hoboken-ize" Englewood a bit.

Amazes me on the seemingly infinite (aka unlimited) amount of young, wealthy, liberal leaning, NY'ers flocking to NJ like the potato famine or gold rush. Result has priced locals out of the real estate market and sent them packaging and running to the hills (Sussex, NEPA). Also tilted the political equation further and further left (granting carte blance to Corzine and his cronies). NYC who needs it? (Of Course if you don't work there). Now I am getting way O/T.

I have to say Englewood as well, the downtown area is a magnet for young people. It has great restaurants and a good vibe to the city.

My one buddy says Wall Street has destroyed Bergen County, and this was when the economy and real estate was alive and kickin.

My friend lives next to Lazy Lannigan's, not yuppie at all. Maybe inside, not on the outside.
