I had a happy thought today that when I finally get the vaccine, I can go back to the Y (swimming!!) and not have to worry about the plague (I can check off 2 of the higher risk boxes), so I thought I would start a thread on how the rollout is going... or not....

Starting with the link published on 12/30 from the State of NJ website.

What a joke. Just distribute it through private for profit entities and let anyone line up and get them. Trying to manage the process through government prioritizing just slows it down

Yeah, that'll work well for the elderly in long-term care facilities. Just tell 'em where the line is and how much money to bring to pay for their shot.

Pharmacies will come to facilities to do it in person. But the most important thing is more people getting it quickly. So the caregivers and family members could line up. By trying to prioritize and control distribution, they are slowing it down and going to waste doses.

Fact of the matter is, NJ is way way behind other states and they are moving so slowly, it will be the summer before it's even available to the general public.

keep in mind, the 2 current mrna vaccines DO NOT STOP TRANSMISSION! you can still get infected and pass it on. they still have studies to do it on. all the current vaccines do is reduce symptoms,

This is just a scare tactic by people who want forever lockdowns. There are very few "leaky" vaccines. There's some indication that the Oxford vaccine may be one, but the mRNA ones have no such indications, and there are some preliminary indications otherwise. It's just that the trials weren't designed to answer that question.

Why does that even matter?

The government could prioritize and control distribution efficiently if that was the goal, but every move they make probably has to be reviewed by three committees and OK'd by four politicians before they can proceed.

Latest posted today. I think first responders should be in Phase1A not 1B. If we had enough doses to go around, this wouldn't be an issue....also broken down by county.
