My mom received an email to schedule an appointment.
She clicks on the link and enters her birthdate.
Then she enters her street address.
Chooses 5 miles, 10 miles, 25 miles, etc to get any open appointment.
Sometimes a place will show up.
But when she clicks on the site Raritan Community College for example, there are no appointments.
The list is empty.

Is this normal?
I don't know what to tell her.

Appointments are very hard to get. She needs to keep trying unfortunately.

Thank you.
I even told her to try another web browser because some times some websites don't work with Firefox but will work with Chrome.

All the sites are like this. I had to do it for my mom. There is no way she could hit refresh 200 times for a few hours - in two separate browsers, and enter on all the info correctly AND quickly.

It's unfortunate and frustrating this is how it is. But more vaccine should be coming in the next few weeks thanks to the new administration.

I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't something she was doing wrong.

When you write "hit refresh", where you doing that?
On the page where you enter the address?

I would recommend using county vaccination site instead of NJVSS.
I was able to get vaccination scheduled early and 1st dose done on county https://www.hudsoncovidvax.org/ site than NJVSS for my mom.

My mom is in Middlesex County.
The Middlesex County website is the same. It has the registration.
That is not the problem.
The problem is finding available appointment.

The phone lines open tomorrow 8am but I imagine it will be hard to get through.

Not sure that more vaccine coming is due to the new administration. The most important part is actually using the vaccine that is allotted to each state and so far NJ is one of the worst in doing so.

I know, right? There's no way elderly will be able to call over and over again to get through. I will say I was able to get an appt at the Meadowlands before the weekend, so I feel grateful.
