Sadly people vote on emotion and not on whats good for the state. Nobody cares about the cost of living here as long we don't have any "Racist" Republicans in office. My family in Nc vote everything democrat and cry when the rent prices and everything starts to go up.

The rents is ticking up so fast around here i don't see how anyone can afford an apartment in this state alone. So many people are staying home with parents or leaving the state. The pay is not great for a lot of jobs and so much is being taken out for taxes.

I believe that the quality of public education is dictated not by the state, but by the influence of the parents of the children. The amount of dollars allocated to the student is secondary to parental involvement. The achievement of a state in comparison to another state should be tempered with the culture of the family. Tax dollars don't factor into the outcome.

I agree it’s probably not tax dollars contributing to the achievement... but it is dollars. If by parental involvement you mean hiring tutors that maybe the average family in other states can’t afford, then yes, parents in NJ are very involved.
