The only way it’s changed is the walk is even longer now (currents cause beach erosion in many towns like Ocean City, and all the sand goes to Wildwood). It looks like 1/2 mile from beach to oceans edge, lol.
I went to Wildwood as a teenager for a week, and god i HATED that walk!!! Won't go back , even though it's free...walking across that hot sand for that long to get even near the ocean? NO THANKS!!!

I agree. Every time I want to go get a soda and go to the bathroom I don’t want to go on a hour long hike lol.
Bring a cooler, and pee in the ocean like everybody else.
I can’t pee in the ocean, I’ve tried many times! It’s a combination of A. Once I stand still I feel like everyone knows I’m trying to pee, and B. When the waves hit it “goes back in” and there are constant waves.

I was gonna say...
I know it's the beach?? BUT I think the beach is a HORRIBLE place.

Yeah, but it's salt water, and I always used to wait like 30 seconds before going back under.
Even in Florida when they call it the "Hobo bath" I just couldn't get with the beach life.
I look at surfers and I'm like.. "Yeah. Sure.."
Plus, we have that dirty East Coast ocean NJ water.
Is that really true that water in Wildwood is colder than other beaches? If so how can that be?
It must have different currents, cause all the sand from other beach towns erosion is funneled to Wildwood (this the massive beach when other towns have to pay for beach replenishment every few years). I’d assume more water is churned up from the colder bottom perhaps. If it’s true, I never heard that.
