You should consider renting for a year, so you'll have time to learn about the different communities and make a good choice. But if that's out of the question, please tell us more about your price range and willingness to use public transportation so we can give you better advice.

Thank you all for your responses...I really appreciate all your help...My friend has suggested Kendall Park in South Brunswick. Could anyone please advise me how the schools are in that area? Also, do houses (say a 10 to 15 year old 4 bed 2.5+ bath colonial home) appreciate in the Kendall Park area? Thanks a lot...

We are in West Windsor and have been looking at Kendall Park. The schools there are pretty good but do not compare to West Windsor/Plainsboro, Princeton or Montgomery. That area has been building up and gaining affluent residents relatively quickly though; can't really project appreciation rates in this uncertain market and time though.
