Tattoos are now common and very mainstream in NJ society. When I got my first one 2 years ago it started quite a debate about the best places to get tattoos in Union County. Personally, I love Paul in Tattooville in Linden. He gave me an awsome tattoo that I'm quite proud of. I'm terrified of needles. If I can do it - ANYONE can! LOL!
And yes, they are addicting. I'm now trying to decide WHICH tattoo to get next! I have 3 more I'd like to add and can't decide which one to get first!
I'm curious to see whom others might recommend around central Jersey!
I absolutely hate tattoos. I see no reason why someone should mark their bodies with ink...especially women.
Those cute little tattoos on your shoulders or on your back will look like green blotches by the time you are old and gray.
"Mainstream in NJ society"....that is really laughable.
How about taking the money that you spent on that tattoo and putting it to good use. Maybe take a someone out to dinner. But a kid something. Donate the money to a worthwhile charity.

Got my 1st by Tattoo Steve in Elizabeth. I also used Snookie (don't know if he's around) they've been covered / fixed.
Ever hear of Pulsating Paula? Tattoo mag cover the person that did her tat was Fine Line Phylly, she's done most of mine, also inked my son a year or so ago. She doesn't advertise

It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things.
I'm not heavily tattoo'd, have about 6, all hidden. Not into sleeves and think facial is gross. I appreciate a nicely done one of a kind tat.
Tattoos are just one of the latest Fad things to do for those who have not quite grown up yet. Unfortunately they are permanent so when you come to your senses and wish you had not given into peer pressure, it's a little too late.
If you have to be different just like all your friends. I suggest you shave your head or dye your hair purple or maybe a nose ring.
When your 30 and looking for that great job nobody is gonna know what you looked like 10 years earlier unless of course you got that stupid tattoo exposed for all the world to see.
But then again there are those out there who are smarter than most and know that tattoos are really great and who wouldn't want a job working at the carnival?
I personally don't like tattoos and I'm not attracted to women who have them either. And I'm pretty young too. But if you want to get them, it's your choice and no one should judge. But, unfortuantely, that's not the case. If your going to get one, get a hidden one.
I had a teacher in middle school who was forced to where long sleeve shirts during the warm months (there was no AC in our school) because of his tattoos.

Tattooville is a great place, I started going there about 15yrs ago when it was The Ink Spot. Shoe was the artist I used all the time. He also tattooed my wife, brother, brother in law, and numerous friends.
And for those of you who were kind enough to post your disapproval of tattoos, remember the old saying. Dont judge a book by its cover. You would be very surprised to find out whats inside.
Not all tattoos are living-in-the-moment tattoos... I've been wanting to get the attached one done for a long time now.... about 9 or 10 years.
Its the symbol for Cu Cullainn, the hound of Ulster (and where I got CuCullin - which was a shortened version for back in the day, on IRC, when I only had 8 characters to work with), a champion of celtic lore.
This is not something I would be ashamed of, or wish later I hadn't gotten. The main problem is, its INCREDIBLY complicated, and very few tattoo guys are even willing to do it. A friend of mine has apprenticed, and is now working with some very skilled people - and he can only think of two he would trust to do something of this level, and neither one is cheap. So, after my gf is working, and we have two incomes, I'll have plenty of disposable cash... thats when I'll do it

I mean, not to sound sexist or anything....
"ESPECIALLY women?"
why, pray tell, ESPECIALLY women?
