Hi all! New here!

I am looking for the fastest route from Ramsey / Mahwah to downtown NYC..

This can be driving 10 minutes to catch an express bus or driving 10 minutes to a train?

I am not too familar with the area

Car - Holland or Lincoln tunnel .. or GWB depending on traffic.

Train (probably fastest) - main line to Secaucus, then into penn station.

Its the same train line in Mahwah and Ramsey.

Working in Midtown that would be perfect

No place to drive 10 minutes to catch a bus or something?

I personally dont like the busses - someone else will chime in.

An alternative is main line train (same as above) to Hoboken, path to WTC.

The fastest should be the express from Ramsey Route 17 to Hoboken, and then the PATH to WTC. Per the timetable, the 7:04 from Ramsey would get to HOB at 7:45 and WTC by 8:09. This also avoids the clownshow(s) that are the Port Authority and Penn.

Some locals may be able to share busses that go directly downtown (I have no idea), but the above doesn't seem too bad as far as a NJ commute goes.

NO, you are telling him to take two unnecessary transfers STAY on the train all the way to Hoboken, then PATH to the WTC.

Wait, your original post says DOWNTOWN. Now you say Midtown. Which is it? Where are you working?

Train is best to DOWNTOWN.

There are buses from Mahwah and from Wyckoff to the PABT, which is best for MIDTOWN.

Shortline is the main carrier, IIRC

I said that in my next post.

Since we don't know where downtown, penn could make sense? But I agree, if you're going to lower manhattan, path...

OK, yeah. The guy has to figure out where he's going, exactly, lol.

I agree. Commuted for 37 years, bus, train, drove. I'd take the train over any other option any day.
