Anyone here have experience with these car-buying services ?
I'm interested in using Carvana, but the horror stories/reviews of not getting the title/registration/plates on time, has cooled my jets.
Also interested in hearing of recent experiences @ the various NJ DMV offices... thanks in advance
I had a very positive experience with Carvana. They drop the car off at your house and at the same time pick up your trade-in. You can test drive the car in your neighborhood while the Carvana employee loads up the trade-in. Then, you get 7 days to return the car no questions asked if you don't like it. One of the reasons I used Carvana was because every single dealership it seems was advertising a certain vehicle as being available, but when you show up to look at it, or call, the vehicle is always "already sold". Carvana pricing was also very competitive, and for most models, they had a a lot of stock available.
also check their stock price, they will be bankrupt soon. I might by a few thousand shares, becuase they will end up being purchased by a competitor with ethical business practices. https://seekingalpha.com/symbol/VRM

Reason: adding information
We bought, with a trade in, through Carmax in Maple Shade in January. I had nothing byt a positive experience. They fedex’d me the plates in about a week and a half. The lack of negotiation was refreshing. Our trade was valued $2000 above the original sticker price, so more than fair.

I haven’t used them but I have bought my last 2 cars from Auto Lenders, a NJ chain that operates similarly (all the cars are cars that came off leases and are generally low mileage due to that). It’s non-commission based sales and the price is the price, no haggle. The last car I saw on their website online. It was in their Lakewood location but you just click a button to have the car brought to your closest location to drive it. My car was dead by then, so they actually drove it from Lakewood to Ocean City and picked me up in it, let me drive it, then we drive to their Egg Harbor Twp location and completed the sale.
These days you might not even have to do the last part. That was in 2016. I had no problems with the registrations etc.
