My wife and I may have an relocation opportunity. She would be working out of Woodcliff Lake, I would be working out of Woodbridge. Here is what we know:
- I would rather live in a new / newly remodeled townhome than a rundown single family that needs work. We do have a pitbull mix in case that is a concern for townhomes.
- We are in our late 20's, too old for nightlife to really be any kind of factor.
- No kids yet, but probably on the horizon, so schools are pretty important.
- Would like $300,000 or less, 2 or 3 bedroom, 2 baths, 1200 to 1500 sq/ft is fine. At least some yard for the dog.
- Hour commute or less would be great with the occasional 1 1/2 delays. Want to avoid a daily 1 1/2 commute in which an accident pushes it to 2+. We both have cars.
So, what communities come to your mind? We would be moving from Rochester, NY; so the cost of living is really going to suck. Any advice from people who have made the jump? Company would be covering relo costs, but I know that is barely half the battle.
