Tinton Falls, Middletown, Keansburg... Yes, you might find something for $250k-$300k, but Colt's Neck? Nah, shouldn't bother because nothing exists at that price point. You'd have to go back a few decades and even then...

The Boro maybe but some of the areas are a bit sketchy.

To get an idea. Most are very small and under $300K slim pickings.

There are 3BR detached homes in Howell in the low $300's (more if you go to $350K), and 2BR homes less than $300K. Howell is about 15 miles south of Colt's Neck

Used to live there. Great area, but there is nothing for your budget there.

Don't know about housing < $300k, but people have been moving to Howell for a few years now, place has a steady uptick in population. Nice, quiet family oriented town.

Maybe but many confuse Freehold Boro with Freehold Twsp. They are not the same. Even so there is nothing in OP price range in that area. Forget Colts Neck you couldn't touch a single family detached house in Manalapan for that money in two decades. I lived in the general area for over 35 years great place to raise a family but prices are very high now.

Colts Neck is a affluent township and very expensive.
Matawan and Aberdeen are not too far and you might find a house for your budget.
