In that case, then the OP should look into Springfield. It's not as desirable as most of Bridgewater, but it would be a much more do-able commute.

Taking 78 would result in heavier morning and evening traffic, but as long as there are no accidents you should be ok until you get to Staten Island, than it's dealing with the SIXPWY, and as you probably already know there are no easy ways to get to Wagner on the local streets from that side of the Island. You would have to learn some side street shortcuts to dink and dunk out of.
