Hello I'm new to this forum as well as being a parent. My wife and I are pregnant and due in August. We are looking for recommendations in the Cranford area of Child Care Facilities that are friendly to people that commute in NJ (driving) as well as to NYC (Rail). We are looking for her to go back to work somewhere in November. Any help or experiences that you can share are welcomed and appreciated as we are new to this whole new world.

Thanks

Luis

Hi Luis!

I would definitely check out Rainbow Academy in Cranford, not far from the train station. It's a really beautiful center with a very loving staff. Plus you could watch your baby from home or work via the internet. Check out their website, where you can do a virtual tour of the center at Rainbow Academy – A Family of Child Care Centers

Good luck!

I lived in Cranford for 8 yrs and absolutely loved it. The only reason we left was b/c I became more handicapped and permanently need a wheelchair, thus a ranch. There were no ranches on the market there at that time so we moved closer to my old home.

You will not need any luck. Cranford is a great town, filled with nice people and lots of great family friendly activities.

The Rainbow Academy is very warm and loving too. They have a very active parents association so if you end up going there it would be a nice way for you to meet the parents of the other children your child spends the day with.

Let me know if I can offer you any other feedback...

Oh and The Garlic Rose Bistro on north Avenue is great if you are looking for somewhere for lunch that day.

Come, Play and Learn is a great, small daycare in Cranford. Located on Myrtle Street, it has two outdoor play areas, a library and a separate art room. The classes have small teacher to child ratios and all the children get a lot of individual attention. The phone number is 908-653 9333 ext 233.

Pretty sure over 5 years later they ended up finding someone, but thanks for playing.
