Where do they put credit card holds for self-serve gas? I’ve never seen that, ever. I’ve been to 43 of 50 states, 42 of which have self-serve gas (because 49 of 50 have self-serve gas). Most of my travels have been driving. I’m in North Carolina right now. On this trip I’ve pumped gas in Maryland and NC. No credit card hold.
Literally every other state has had self-serve gas forever except for Oregon. The sky is not falling New Jerseyans!
Yeah tell that to the people who can't pump. I know it is assumed that because you can it automatically is assumed everyone can.

I’m sorry, but NJ is literally the ONLY state that mandates full service. There’s handicapped people nationwide, we all know this right? Why is it that 321 out of 329 million Americans can survive with self-service gasoline but NJ’s 8 million residents cannot?

Most of us have gone to other states and filled up our own tanks on many occasions. So it's not a matter of "can't survive". It's just that most of us like it better this way.

I get that. My response was specific to someone who wasn’t framing it this way.

Hmm. Never thought about it, but my father would not have been able to pump his own gas easily if he drove without his artificial legs on, which happened during times of infection in the stumps. He had a system on the roof of his van that picked up, stored, and let down his wheelchair, but he would have needed sufficient space for it.
Probably would have just gotten gas when my mother was with him!

My mom had to wait until I drove up from Ocean City to Northeast Philly and got gas for her.

Really? I just figured whoever was working in the gas stations would just help people that couldn't do it themselves.

Not always. My mom got that at one place for a while until they got a new manager. After that she found a small gas, service station two towns over who would fill her tank. When they closed the neighbor's son did it for her. Thanks Mike.
