Better exclude electrical work, handymen are not insured for doing electrical work.

Anyone contracting work on someone else's house in New Jersey needs to be registered (licensed) as a home improvement contractor with the Office of the Attorney General. DO NOT hire anyone who does not have this certification, and DO NOT hire illegals (not a protected class). And make sure the contractor DOES NOT hire illegals.

Does what you are hiring this person to do require you to be inspected by the state, or county, or municipality? If not, than if know this handy man knows what he is doing despite not being registered, and you trust him or her, than what is the harm?

I am like a handyman, Handymanish, and can do all those things. How much are you paying LOLZ?

Bong,

Had a similar need as yours. I decided to go with Professional Handyman Services from Mr. Handyman: Help for Hire and was happy with their service. I'm not too far from you and believe they do cover your area. I have no affiliation with this company. Good luck.
