I think they shun them for other reasons which we don't need to go into. But if you think an atlantic ocean beach is always clean and bacterial (e-coli) free you may want to look at the data here NJDEP - NJBEACHES.ORG

Go back in the archives and look at a day(s) after a storm or heavy beach traffic in the summer.


It could be eye opening but really wouldn't want to do that if you were in the water.

I agree. Spent a lot of time, all year round at the Tiki Bar. Really enjoyable.
