good point and thanks for the confirmation reguarding Closter, some think I was being racist. Not true.

Default closter or rivervale

Hi - i have been reading all your posts and i'm not sure what is going on with steve and mary - however, i will say that i have a daughter in pre-school in closter and the kids are a very nice mix of races. Also, yes Closter is known for having alot of Asians, but i don't think that is a detriment to moving there over other towns - the fact is the school system is a blue ribbon school system and maybe that is because of the Asian influence - i don't see a problem with our kids having a little push to excell at school. By the way, i am hispanic and my husband is italian and he has family in Closter, so we are there frequently and have never felt overwhelmed by the Asian influence.

I personally think that if you are looking for a town to move to, drive around, go to the schools, see the towns, and you will be able to pick the area that feels right for you. As long as you research the areas and are convinced of safety and good schools you won't go wrong. JMO

I'll keep this simple.
Closter schools are considered to be better than RV, but only marginally so. Both are excellent.
Closter has a significant Asian presence. I can't speak of RV, except to say that there is a significant Japanese presence at the golf course.
RV has a significant Jewish presence. I can't speak of Closter.
OP, you'll be fine in either town until you get a look at housing prices and taxes. You may not be so fine then.
