Of course the nicest area is Locust/Navesink River Road.
You should understand that Middletown is quite large, about 42 sq miles, and has areas with every conceivable type of home from gazillion dollar mansions to converted summer bungalows and everything in between. why don't you specify what you are looking for and we can help you target an area

Basically i'm looking for an area the is family oriented, quiet, with great schools.
Close to transportation into Manhattan. Homes in the price range of $400K - $450K.

Your best bet would probably be the New Monmouth or Harmony sections of Middletown for that price range.
Good Luck to you

Yes, I agree. I just did a quick search on Realtor.com and for your budget, New Monmouth would fit the bill. It is not considered "the nicest" but it is certainly fine.

Good Luck!

Shanny

I'd suggest trying the Lincroft section of Middletown. The schools are good. Some of the houses are a bit older (think splits or ranches) but you in exchange for that you can get the square footage, yard & schools possibly at the price tag you are seeking. Also on RT 520 (which is VERY BUSY) you may be able to get a deal on a split or a ranch style home b/c of the highway (the yards tend to still be a decent size though)>

I don't think he can buy there in his price range

I believe in the 400K range he can get something there especially if he considers an older split right near Newman Springs Road which is a very busy highway.

Default Best areas of Middletown

Hi! I grew up in Middletown and still live in the area. I think the Navesink, River Plaza and Oak Hill sections are very nice.
Good luck!
