I recently found a place that sells 5 and 10 gallon tubs of very good italian ice. Ever since then Ive been thinking of getting my own route. I know that i NEVER buy the ice cream or other things that you can buy at your local food store. But good italian ice is hard to come by so that s all "I" ever buy. Based on what my local guy charges and how much the tub costs, I could make a killing. Nice easy side job.

We have the Italian Ice/packaged ice cream as well $2.75 for a SpongeBob stick ice cream

Where have you gone Mr. Softee ?
As a pre-teen, our Mr. Softee let us have free ice cream and we had canned whipped cream fights...
the biddies hated the mess we made.

I almost spit out my lunch, too. Hilarious!

We have an ice truck that comes around a lot and I heard a Mr. Softee the other day.

we have an ice cream truck that drives by every afternoon. it's OK except something is wrong with it's sound system so the music slurs...

There was a special on the History Channel about USA ice cream manufacturers and ice cream trucks--very nice segment.

When I lived in Washington, DC (this was around 10 yrs ago), an ice cream truck used to come around the neighborhood. What was weird about this truck was that (1) the ice cream was super-cheap, like $.05 and they would sometimes give it away for free, (2) they had a really great sound system and would blast no-kiddee music while they drove around, and (3) they would speed through the neighborhood. I was curious one time and went out there to buy some ice cream. They gave me two cones for $0.25 and a free candy necklace. I think they were drug dealers and the truck was just a cover. Never did quite figure it out.

the guy told him he had an ice cream truck root

Just came across my old post. I can't believe I wrote "root". LOL. And I'm the one who finds typos on restaurant menus all the time.

I have two trucks too! The first is Mr. Softee and the second comes at night and sells popsicles and candy.

That's the first sign that it's almost summer, when the ice cream trucks start going around town. There's usually 1,2, or 3 that go down my street.
