Hi All,
Racking my brains to find a town (preferably in monmouth, but open to other locations) with educated professionals that commute to the city or JC, one that will have a good sized lot, large sized homes, GREAT schools, nice neighbors, close to the shore and stuff to do. All of that for 600-700k. Not interested in the towns where people think they have "arrived" because they live there. Any thoughts???

Thanks!

I am biased but Wall Township maybe? Not sure if there are many commuters to NYC though.

belmar, and red bank may have homes in his price range, manaquan, not much beyond a shack and SL, sea girt and rumson? how clueless could someone be?
also you seemed to have missed the educated professional and commuter part, belmar, no, red bank, some, but the few parts of town that are decent are out of his price range, manasquan? not really and few people commute to NY from there. and sea girt, SL and rumson are out of his price range.
thanks for trying

How about Holmdel. They say its better to to buy the worst house in a great area than a great house in a not so great area.

I'd say Holmdel fits your criteria. 600-700k won't get you in the top-of-the-line areas there, however you will still be in Holmdel which is a great town, with an excellent school system.

You can probably find something nice in Middletown, Manalapan or Marlboro too, all of which have good schools. Again 600-700k won't get you in the top of the line areas of these towns but you can definitely find homes within that range there.
