Anyone have info and cost of movers in NJ? Even info on the ones NOT to get will be helpful.

Thinking of moving from North Brunswick to Lawrenceville, total of about 35 miles one way.

I hear so many scary stories about movers and would hate to have my stuff damaged.

Thanks SO much in advance.

Kay

We used Vreeland in union County. We didn't have any damages.

We packed a lot of it and had them do the pricey stuff like crystal and china.

After our house was on the market, we got a postcard for a place that delivered boxes a lot cheaper than the movers cost. I bought just about everything through them.. tissue paper/newsprint, bubble, wrap boxes, box inserts and the foamy envelopes for plates.

I did wrap some things in towels and blankets too either before the bubble wrap or instead of.

Label everything with which room you want them to put the boxes into.

The more prepare you are, the faster it will go that day.

Good luck!

Default Re : PLEASE HELP! Mover info needed

If you have friends/relatives to help you, you could use a container from PODS (PODS - Reinventing Moving and Storage > Home)

or you could find a list of good and bad movers in NJ.

The movingscam.com website is a good place to check for credibility of movers around.

Thanks.

Default Reasonable & Meticulous

We used Metro Able Movers in Edison. They were meticulous, polite and didn't damage anything.

I used Central Moving Systems in Bridgewater. Charged by the weight, so I wasn't watching the clock, which worked for me.

We used University Van Lines in Rahway for two moves in the last 7 months. They were really fantastic, and not a single thing was broken during either move.

I used Moishes to move from Brooklyn to Hawthorne. They were great. They will do an in-house estimate, and give you a Binding, not-to-exceed estimate in writing. This will be the MOST they can charge you and not go over. If the move goes faster, they will actually charge you less.

Don't go with ANYONE that will not come to your house and give you a Binding, not-to-exceed estimate.

They will go by how many rooms you have, fuel, tolls, etc.
