Yeah, ours looks a little bit over priced, but I heard the guy does a really good job..plus we do not have time to shop around - need to do it asap

We paid 550 in monmouth. I thought that was high and we don't feel we got anything extra at all. Can you get another recommendation? We felt we had to rush too, but we shouldn't have.

Maplewood - Essex
It depends what it includes. Ours is going to be $750 and it includes the regular inspection, pest inspection and radon testing. Seemed reasonable, but maybe this is high?

fyi - for radon testing. Make sure the homeowners know that the window/doors have to be closed BEFORE the test starts. Our inspector was going to charge us more for having to come back.
]Maybe it does just cost that much now. Our total was the same as yours. For the pest inspection the guy told my husband "that's nothing, I've never seen so little". In the printed report he included 2 pages of how he has no responsibility, didn't look behind walls. Recommended getting a special company to come in and drill holes, insert cameras, possibly bring a DOG in to track termites. I found the whole inspection process to be very annoying. Make sure you're there with them so you can get the real story about exactly what NEEDS to be fixed and what are minor things. In writing they tell you every possible worst case scenario and absolve themselves of any and all responsibility. As another example in one of the bathrooms there is a chain in the tank that needs to be shortened. In the report it says the toilet is not flushing properly and a licensed plumber must be brought in to rectify the problem.

We paid $299 in Cherry Hill but did NOT include termite or radon because the lawyers for the estate had it done already (the month before). We were told by our lawyer that the people they used were very, very reputable.
