Isn't it time for the Warren County Fair??? I know Blairstown is usually hopping on the 4th. I'll see what I can find out : )
All depends on my free barbecue! . Friends of the family are buying a new one apparently, and since I need to fix my sister's iPod (battery is toast), my mom would be swinging by with it.
Thanks Shanny. Much as I sometimes get down on the political landscape of the state, NJ will always be home for me. You can't just discard 30+ years of living in a place, a place you grew up in.
That said, I am going there with no expectations. Rarely does anything you plan out happen even remotely the way you plan it.
One of the days I am back, I plan on taking the family rafting down the Delaware River, and the other a fishing trip out of Brielle. That's about the only plan I have. I was boating on a riverboat down the Columbia River 2 days ago, and forgot the real affinity I have for water, rivers especially. One of the aspects of NJ I took for granted living there was how water influences and shapes the landscape. Not just in the form of rivers, oceans and lakes, but how moisture enables you to have... trees! Big ones, all over, everywhere. That was something else I derived out my recent venture to Portland.
we're probably doing that in the near future - I want to go on the 4th...
I've rafted before, but the water was high and I was only about 1/8th to 1/4 in the bag. Probably about 1/6th in the bag. Last time I rafted however, it was up around Dingman's Bridge. This time it will be in your backyard, somewhere around Milford or Frenchtown, I think. Well, a little south of your backyard.
ok, and we want to go there - the "hot dog man" by chance?
rafting/tubing on the 4th hopefully, rugby game and town fireworks on the 5th, yard work the rest of the time
