There is parking directly across the street from the station. All you do is cross the street you are right there. I think its $13-14 a day. I am not sure about monthly parking. As for Harrison I don't ever remember seeing any parking at all there.
How long a walk to the station? Is Harrison better in terms of parking?
Less than 5 minutes to the station where I park. Harrison is harder to get to from Summit because of the traffic on the GS Parkway. I tried going to Harrison before Newark and found getting to Newark through Route 78 to be less stressful and time consuming.
Actually there is a TON of parking around the Harrison PATH station, and it is much cheaper than the parking in Newark. (Plus Harrison is a safe town whereas Newark is a tad bit sketchy at best).
There is parking surrounding the PATH station in Harrison on just about all sides. The going rate for a lot next to the station is $6 per day, but if you can find a spot on the street (and have a roll of quarters) you can spend $4 for 12 hours on a street spot.
Harrison is fairly easily accessible from I-280. Just cross over the bridge from Newark on 280 and take the first exit, then take a short 5 minute drive through the town to the PATH station.
If you want to get to Harrison from 78, take 78 east to 1&9-N and take the Raymond St exit in Newark. Then drive a little bit and make a right onto the bridge over to Harrison and the PATH station is about a mile down the road on the left.
I think I'd take driving up 1&9 and then going down Raymond Blvd over driving on McCarter Highway in rush hour traffic any day of the week.
Sometimes the folks on this board make me wonder if you actually a clue what you're talking about....
I am looking to go from North Jersey to Princeton I know it is kind of a hike...but I will prob be moving closer to either Newark or Secacus within the year....what is the best way? To drive down and park at Newark? (anyone have a contact for places?) also...is it jam packed with traffic (I would be coming from Paramus down...)
thanks all!!!
