This may seem silly, but what did you guys do when you were feeling homesick for NJ?
I have yet to live there, but I feel more at home there than I ever have elsewhere (so, it feels like home to me, and I pretty much consider it so, right now).
I've been away for almost 5 months, and I'm working on saving the money to move, so a visit, unfortunately, is out of the question, since I'd rather save the money to live there. However, missing NJ tremendously is eating me up.
So, what did you guys do? Shanny? anyone?
we moved and my husband was terribly miserable, considering he though he would retire young and fish, hike and swim all day!! We solved his problems and if you read some of my beginning posts they are very funny about moving!! However we moved back!!! However this may not be possible so here are some ideas, the computer like what your doing now really helps keep in touch with things so internet away. Go to Macy's they all seem the same as the ones in NJ and reminds people of NJ. Talk to friends in NJ and or family. Keep busy, read, but better exercise, join a gym for a month relieves stress and depression. Your life is not a prison sentence, and if you really want to come home just say to yourself this is just TEMPORARY!!!
Come on now Bob..we can all read between the lines of every post you share in the NEW JERSEY forum...you miss it. Not that you'll ever admit it..we all know
lol - his property taxes could octuple, every single politician from NJ could move down there and take office, his school district could become an abbott, they go and pry his gun from his cold, dead fingers and he STILL wouldn't admit NJ has *some* better qualities than GA.

See..we can read between the line : ) come on now Bob..fess up! You LOVE NJ..just say it 3 times while clicking your heals together and maybe you'll be lucky enough to be one of us again
We go back every now and then to visit our friends, check out some old haunts (former homes and favorite businesses), and stroll the boardwalk. Then we get the heck out of there!
As much fun as it is to go back and visit the Jersey Shore, it's always nice to head south over the Delaware Mem Bridge knowing we're going to our new home.

Every time I feel I miss So. NJ, I pick up my book "The Soprano State" & start reading it, then I check the home prices and the sad feeling leaves me as fast as it came on. Visiting the kids twice a year and stocking up on Italian bread and pizza is all I need to come back to our home in the South.
Good luck in your move and save lots of money.
