I had to post to this. Having received our first real Electric bill in NJ. I about s#@! myself. We ran about $225/month in PA. Our bill was $710! In PA. it was 6.6 cents per kilowatt, here almost 32cents/per KWH ( that is including the 8.8 cents delivery charge.) Delivery charge? Are you kidding me?! Oh, and by the way Met-Ed who was our company in PA. and JCP&L are both First Energy Companies. Can someone please tell me how they can explain the difference? We have moved 84 miles east, but it feels like it's own little Socialist country!

Do not even get me started on the permits! I think you need a permit to take a dump in New Jersey!

Ouch! Are you sure there's not some connection charges or something in there...a deposit charge maybe because you are a first tiem JCP&L constomer? that's ridiculously high! Unless you own a 10,000 sf open floor plan mansion and have electric everything throughout?????
Oh and by the way, they just started requiring permits for taking a dump and you have to have a special lic. through the State as well before you can even get the permit to dump

I have applied for my "dumping" license. It required a $35 fee. The inspector will be out after breakfast! LOL! As far as the electric bill, there were no connection charges. We actually used less Kilowatts, than our last bill in PA. Almost $500 more. No huge mansion. We do have 5,000 square feet, but keep the AC set at a comfortable range. We are definitely being more careful now of what we leave on etc...

I just went out and read my meter..I'm at 729 KWHs so far..and they read mid month so by my calcs. this months bill will still be over $300.00 . I'm unplugging everything and moving into the shed. I'm going to hire a few illegals to fan us down at night... I'm sure it will still be cheaper than what JCP&L will charge us. Mother F'in robbin' bastids!

You're all hysterical. Although since we'll be closing tomorrow and receiving these bills ourselves - I don't know why I'm laughing.
