My sister just got out of a unhealthy relationship. She's about to move into her first apartment and need furniture. My sister credit is not bad but then its not good. She asked me to co-sign for a furniture account, of course thats not going to happen.

Does anyone know of a furniture company in Northern New Jersey that provide finance for less than perfect credit? I'm willing to give her a downpayment but not co-signiture.

How about finding some used but realtively good furniture on CraigsList?

She should still be able to get limited credit if that's the case (i.e. less limit, higher APR).

If that's the case sounds like her credit is bad.

I would suggest IKEA and thrift stores, freecycle, craigslist. What does she need.

I love the Trading Post. Good quality furniture at reasonable prices. Everything I purchased there has held up great. I'm a regular

Try Freecycle---http://www.freecycle.org/ My son will be moving here as soon as he finds a job here, and I told him to get rid of his furniture that way(was my old furniture). It's not worth moving things long distance.
Lots of people give furniture away through that.

Definitely try freecycle, and garage sales. One of my BF has her house decorated absolutely beautifully, and so much of the stuff she bought at garage sales for next to nothing.

One of her children's beds a solid wood trundle with a ship's wheel as a headboard. She bought it for $40. Her house is filled with treasures like that!
