I'm also from FL trying to get to New Jersey. Want to escape the confederate flags, excessive heat, hurricanes, misquotes, and lack of culture.
One thing I noticed that will be a huge adjustment moving up to NJ is the property tax rates. Holy smokes!! I've been looking at homes in greater Cherry Hill area and I'm astounded at the property tax rates compared to FL. Currently, I pay about 3K a year in property taxes, but can expect to pay around 8-10K when I move up there.
Excuse my ignorance, but what do the citizens get back from their communities at these rates? I know the schools are top-notch. Are there other benefits the citizens reap? Just curious. Thanks!
LACK OF CULTURE IS A BIG ONE! @unfgrad94
my aunt is moving back to shes actually almost here, but she says they had the confederate flags and the huge bugs and bad sticky heat. It might be cheaper but it has a reason.. its not all paradise, i think key west is all that FL has as paradise, my aunt lived in FT. myers. HORRIBLE FOOD TOO! i had green pasta there once, dont ask me how, i have no clue.. them hicks
