This happens in all 50 states in any area where there is population density. It's happened since I learned how to drive. It's a human condition, and it's not regionalized. Anytime you get a divergence of speed, coupled with immature drivers, this is bound to happen. In more rural areas, where I live now, this does not happen because there is less pressure on people and there is more room on the road. However, in urban and suburban areas, this happens all the time. My advice is to just lay off the gas, stay in the middle lane, and let the driver who is being offended calm down. You are not going to save any time by attempting to pass the motorist. Let your own emotions cool off as well. It's good for everyone.

Now, if you asked me this 20 years ago, I'd give you a very different response. But I am 42 now. My current self and prior self would have quite an argument. But it's really not worth it.

I think it has to do with their commutes. If you had to drive 75 miles one-way to your job, wouldn't you want to get the commute over with as soon as possible? Of course, that doesn't excuse it. They should move closer.

Mike0421, great advice, and that's smart to do. I'm 36 so I'm a little mellower than I was years ago, but still get extremely frustrated with the stupidity. I should print your post and read it often.

I meant they should move closer to their jobs, nothing to do with driving

Just move over. Why do you have to stay in the fast lane?

I think the problem here is that these idiots don't use their rearview mirror, so I doubt they'll notice that sticker.
In Europe, a following driver will just flick the high beams to alert slower traffic ahead. Do that here, and the slowpoke will probably jump on the brakes or some other stupidity...
