I'm looking for a jazz dance class. I have 0 experience in jazz dance (and another kind of dances also).
Anyone know a good dance studio in Nutley or surrounding area?
One more thing, I'm 24. Am I too old for that? Y-Y
Thanks in advance

Hello - you are not too old, but it is harder to find a dance school that caters to adults. Especially beginner adults. I can not attest to if it is a good or bad program, because I've never been, but I recall seeing a sign at Act 1 Dance in Hasbrouck Heights announcing adult jazz & tap lessons a while back. It's not Nutley, but it is not that farr. Do you want pure Jazz or Jazzersize?

Jazzersize? Is it a jazz dance for exercise? If it is, I may want a pure jazz.
Thank you so much "EEEPNJ"

No, Jazzersize was a big fad in the late 70's early 80's. It's like an aerobics based on Jazz principals. It's not too common anymore, but there are still some places that have it.

I've looked at some places, most Adult classes seem to be tap for some reason.

But I would reccommend checking Studio Workshop in Lyndhurst www.studioworkshopnj.com They seem to cater to adults a little more than other studios.

Even better - D&L Dance Expo in Bloomfield seems to have adult Jazz. It says Intermediate level, but call the studio - www.dlsdance.com

You can also try NJ School of Performing arts..i believe thats the name of it. They are located in Bloomfield,NJ on Bloomfield avenue. I know they teach different types of dance styles to both children and adults.

Another one - it's in Rochelle Park - but if you get on the GSP from Nutley you'd be there in no time - but they have adult lessons in Jazz too:

Try Starlight Dance Studio in Nutley - I'm not sure if they offer Jazz, but it's worth a shot.

Jazzercise is NOT a fad of the past... it is actually alive and well and offers quite a lot of classes in Nutley as well as other areas. they dance to pretty great music, Lady Gaga, Pussycat Dolls, Jonas Bros, and it is a great workout. just to correct the myth of EEEPNJ. you also might want to look at Sharron Miller in Montclair - they have great adult classes.
