In 2005, the church launched a "Dfree" or "debt-free" program designed to empower people to live without debt by teaching the principles, based in the Bible, of budgeting, spending and minimizing debt. Each participant takes a pledge "to use God's strategy for managing money, to keep my expenses below my income, to pay my bills on time, to invest in assets that grow in value, to contribute to my church and its ministries."
Apparently, the Bible had a chapter on high APR credit cards and tricks for balance transfers. Who knew?
