Hello all,

I'm a Northern NJ native - Morris County - who has been out of NJ for about 12 years, when I left to go to New England for college. I've been dying to get back, but its so expensive. I have a chance to take a job in New Brunswick. I'm not very familiar with that part of the state, but I'm looking for a nice, affordable area that would be a nice place to raise my 1 year old.

I don't mind a 30-45 minute commute. Does this town exist in NJ, or will I have to spend half a million dollars to get a decent house anywhere that isn't in a city?

Definitely a single family home. I figure I can sell my 2400 square foot, 4 bed room colonial in CT for about $300,000. Hoping spend $350 or lower for a house in NJ, and understand I won't get anything close in size, but I can deal with a smaller home as long as its in a nice neighborhood.

East Windsor has decent homes in your budget. It's right off of the turnpike and rt. 130 - easy commute to New Brunswick. It's a nice area w/ a lot of growth right now.

Hi,
I grew up in Highland park which is the next town over from new brunswick.
It's a cute little town.
