Hello all-

I am moving to Hackensack in one of the apartment complexes in Main Street what is the best way to commute to NYC bus or train?
Work in 7th ave and 37th St.

I figured both the train and bus take around 1 hr to reach midtown porth authority or penn station

Which out of the two would be more convenient and fast also safer if walking down from Anderson st. to Main St. in the evening?

Any inputs,advice,suggstions would be appreaciated

Thanks
CG

You can get the bus to the city at Main & Anderson or at the Hackensack Transfer station which is on E. Atlantic off of River.

I'm not sure about trains in Hackensack?

I think it depends on how late you'll be traveling. If it is regular rush-hour, you'll have lots of company walking down Anderson from the train. I don't think that the trains run as late as the buses though.
Depending on where on Main St. you are, you may get almost door-to-door service on the bus, and after rush-hour the ride is generally pretty quick. Probably best would be to try each and see which works best for your daily commute. It is always good to have alternatives.

Bus is cheaper than the train, and the bus will take you straight to port authority. When you take the train you have to transfer at Secaucus or take the path from Hoboken.

Those are the apartments close to route 4? Than the fastest way to NYC is the 171 bus to the GWB bus terminal & the A train to 34th Street or you can just walk to the New Bridge Landing train station & switch trains in Secaucus.
