I wonder if Tom Cruise and whoever his wife is these days announced their dual candidacy, if they'd be able to gain 20-25% of the vote.

For the direction our country is headed in 500 years, I suggest renting the movie "Idiocracy".

People in Michigan and other states will go for the repubs because Palin plays hockey and people in those states are huge hockey fans. Well I am a huge Flyers fan but would not vote for Dave the Hammer Schultz or Bobby Clarke just because I like hockey.

Of course I know these people are "talking heads" on the news but it is really very sad if people vote based on race, sex, hockey, having 5 kids etc.
Well, I vote on issues. So that's why I'm voting for Obama. But it is true. I'm starting to think most Americans should not have the right to vote.

Yeah, she's very conservative religious right... my favorite type of person (NOT) her kids are named like Trig and Track. Maybe a Brangelina fan?

I don't think that's it. It's the demographic.
Bad choice. My Republican friends (I do have some) are all in a tither over this.

I'm starting to think that a vote for Pelle Lindbergh would be better than either of the major candidates.

Well more than a majority in this country are indeed for drilling. Obama is against it and Palin/McCain are for drilling. With gas nearing 4.00 a gallon I think that being a governor of a state where drilling goes on probably went into McCain's pick. I never said if it will help/hurt him in the election-just that I believe it played into a part of his decision when choosing her.

Your republican friends may be in a tither over this but are they going to vote Obama because of it? Were they voting for McCain before this pick? Just curious what this pick is doing for those who were strongly in the Mccain camp before the pic.

I really think that McCain did for the so-called independent-women vote more than for republicans. Will it work?-we will have to wait and see I suppose. I wasn't voting for McCain or Obama before and I haven't been influenced by either of their VP pics.

Are that many people swayed by VP pics? I would be curious to hear from some who have and their reasoning.
