Hi, I'm newly single and just starting a job in Morristown. Looking to move from NYC to Northern Jersey. I'm looking to live in a place that's an easy commute to Morristown, but still easy to hop on a train into the city to visit friends/ shop/ etc. Most importantly, I want to live somewhere I can meet other (early-30) single people but have space that you can't get in the city. Is Montclair my best bet? I'll be renting and have a dog.
What other towns would you recommend?

Montclair sounds like a good fit for you. Hoboken and parts of Jersey City also sound like they will fit your description, however they are much farther from Morristown.
Morristown itself has a pretty thriving singles scene (the town is trying to turn Morristown into "Hoboken-West") with tons of bars throughout the area. However the problem with Morristown is that it is located about an hour away from Manhattan by train, whereas Montclair is closer to the city.
Mead, thank you very much for your response. Didn't realize that Morristown had a descent singles scene, but I agree it's a bit further away from the city than I want to be. Thanks again for your help.
