The Port Authority site recommends avoiding trying to park near the PATH station in Harrison because of construction in the area, and I'm wondering how accurate that is. Is it still a decent option for getting into the city without paying Hoboken parking prices? I'd be traveling on a Saturday, not during weekday rush hour. Thanks.
I'm not sure how disruptive the construction in Harrison is, but if you need an alternative, you can park at the Journal Square PATH parking deck for $13/day. Some of the surface lots in the JSQ area go for as low as $8/day
My husband commutes into the city through Harrison. There is still on-street parking available if you get there very early on the weekdays, and I'm sure it's available on weekends. There are several parking lots in the area, too -- I believe he pays about $7-8 a day to park. I know that there's a large lot that opened up on Frank E. Rodgers right outside the station, and my husband parks in a lot one block over from the station (not sure what the street is called, but it's just west of the station). Good luck!
Thanks to you both. Lammius, I did think about parking at Journal Square, but I know that it's not the safest area--if I were returning there at 8 or 9 p.m. on a Saturday night, would I be okay? (I'm female, and I'd be alone on this trip.)
