What townships make up the Delaware Valley Regional school? I know its in Frenchtown, but on Great Schools.net they do not include any middle or grade schools into this district??

The Townships are:
Alexandria Township
Holland Township
Kingwood Township

And the Boroughs are:
Frenchtown
Milford

About the elementary and middle schools, they are their own separate school district by each of the Municipalities. The Delaware Valley Regional School District, just only includes the High School.

I know nothing about the school or what area is better, but FWIW DVR was ranked 83 in the NJ Monthly list for 2008 - out of 316.

Of the group I would concentrate on Alexandria, it's a better location. Kingwood is a wet area and a hard commute unless you work locally which is hard to do since not much is around there. Even if that's not a concern for you, it is for resale. I was never impressed with Frenchtown or Milford, the locations are bad IMO and they look like Mill towns on the water that have seen better days. Holland is nice but again far out.

We transfered to the area (Alexandria) from Sussex County two years ago and my kids attend DVRHS. Although DVR is well rated, I believe my kids got a better education at Kittitanny Valley Regional. IMHO DVRHS is soft on kids to get a better rating........... Then again my daughter got grants and scholarships based on her time at Del Val to the tune of 32,000 per year and is attending a college we could never afford with out grants. That does say something about the schools reputation with the higher education community.

I grew up in Hunterdon and had no reservations about moving to Holland Township and having my kids go to Del Val. The elem/middle schools have some great teachers and I only heard positive experience from friends that had children in the HS. The bottom line on the school is that it is above average and any failures of a student should not be blamed on the school.

If work is not too far away, go for it, its a very nice area. You can get a lot of house for the money compared to the townships to the east.

Is there much difference between Alexandria and Bethlehem townships? Both seem to offer affordable housing with some of the lowest taxes for Hunterdon county. Do they attend different HS? Is one a better location for commuting on 78 or 22?
