Living anywhere other than the North side of town is a threat to your health.

What do your relatives have to say? I grew up about 7 blocks from Ivy Hill. I felt safe enough up to about where Irvington Avenue meets Riggs Place. Then, honestly, I would be a little wary. However, I used to read the local paper, the News Record, and I rarely saw much in the police blotter. It could be that people were just smart enough to avoid the area so there wasn't any crime.

South Orange is a nice town but the proximity to Newark should not be overlooked.

Bloomfield Nj is not bad, they don't allow all the crime that Newark allows and the studio apartments run you about $750. a mth.

Jeez Louise, not this crap again

Stay away from Newark and every other town where minorities outnumber whites. This is the ONLY way to ensure your safety and more importantly the safety of your dog

Exactly!
Adding on to such a notion, I would also ignore the food & culture that the pits of hell know as Newark has to offer. After all, you can't be too safe!

I'm sorry, but maybe I'm taking this wrong, but this statement sounds extremely racist.
