Universal healthcare is NOT a solution. It is a bandaid. We DO need to fix the healthcare system in the US. There is no doubt about that, but universal healthcare is NOT the answer. Insurance companies using every loophole they can to deny a claim, drug companies charging OBSCENE amounts for drugs that cost little to nothing to produce (Yes I know about cost of R&D..dont go there), advertising direct to the consumer/sick instead of to the doctors, hospitals charging rediculous amounts of money for inconsequential items (like $200 for a box of tissues but calling it 'Sanitary Linens' or some such) OK I made up the name but you doctors and medical billing people know what Im talking about. And dont give me the "Well we have to charge a stocking fee/markup" speech. NO YOU DONT and if for some reason you do, 10000% is uncalled for.
We need to make it safer for our doctors to do what they do without the risk of being sued by every crackpot. We need to enforce mandatory testing/schooling/whetever it its called in order for a doctor to keep their license. Many hospitals already have policies like this but they dont enforce it enough. This alone will save millions in malpractice insurance and thus doctors and hospital's fees. I can go on and on.

The state of NJ requires 50 hours/year of continuing education to get your license renewed every 2 years. Most specialty boards have even more stringent requirements. Mine requires 70 hours/year.
