It only took 24 days, but we are finally one step closer to home ownership.

We had some delays with both lawyers taking off for Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashana (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and the seller wanting to have a house lined up to move to before agreeing to move ahead with this deal. If it wasn't done by this Wednesday we were going to pull the plug and keep looking but I'm glad it stayed together, because I'm tired of looking at houses.

Hopefully the deal stays together through the inspection process.

Target closing date is 12/10.

Good luck with everything! We are probably going to be out of attorney review this week, and then we just have to worry about little things like financing, appraisals, home inspections...

You must be relieved that you have cleared that hurtle. 24 days is quite a long time to be in attorney review - I'm sure you are happy to be through it. Good luck now with inspections, appraisal and mortgage processing.

You got many more hurdles to go...Next comes Inspection.. Then more haggling and headaches. Attorney review means nothing.

My move to Manalapan was also from LI. That is a nice townhouse complex. I never heard a complaint. If my son hasn't moved here by the time you move in, you may catch him visiting a friend there.

I can top the 24 days, I was in Attorney review 30 days when I was selling. The next hurdle was inspection for us. They did 3 of those. We started the process in May, and closed Aug 3rd, my birthday! I had to close here in July so owned 2 homes for about 2 weeks, not fun!

Contract received for our sale on 9/29.... out of atty. review in less than 3 days... contract for purchased signed on 10/01... out of atty. review on 10/15 (no reason...lazy attys : )), inspections done..minor stuff on both ends - scheduled to close on both next wed. 10/29/08! Possibly a record breaking closing for NJ : )))
