What's your opinion on the whole vehicle inspection headache in NJ? I think the things they are failing cars for these days are petty, purely nit-picking, and a lot of times have nothing to do with vehicle "safety". If you agree, give some examples of stupid things your car has "failed" inspection for!

I failed the other day because I don't drive enough. On board diagnostics computer didn't have enough info to give them? Passed everything else.

never failed in my nearly 25 yrs of driving. and I've had some POS' too. I'm usually in and out in 10 minutes - I go to a facility that only takes appointments.

I rarely ever went to an Inspection Station because I would never keep a car that long. Well I finally went to one a few months back...and flunked. I needed two new tires! I do have to say, the people there are miserable. I remember going to the Ins Station in Jersey City back in the early 80's and the guys there were really decent...not now, especially at the station in Manahawkin.

I used my wife's blow dryer to "fix" it and went right back and passed.

The whole inspection thing is just another boondoggle.

They should leave it with functioning head/tail/turn signal lights, wipers and brakes.

Yep! The lovely and civil 800 momma that decided to make a 10 minute long cell phone call inside my SUV so she could suck in all the cold A/C failed me because there is supposed to be nothing on the windshield.
