Why no mention of Fair Lawn (FL) in west-central Bergen County?

Easy car commute - opposing traffic on RT80W (or RT46W) from neighboring EP to Morris Co./Dover.
Easy mass transit commute - MANY options to NYC [daily buses & trains]. Fast and quick.
Tax concerns (levy & siphoning) LESS here versus Maplewood (Essex), Wayne/PL (Passaic).

I'd also consider New Milford, Maywood, Rochelle Park, Rutherford, Hasbrouck Heights & Wood Ridge - if you want to be closer to NYC.

True, but Teaneck is in the mix. You could hop on 80 faster from Has Hts or Maywood and get there faster.

Hi, there,
After all, we decided to go with Maplewood. I like the diversity, good access to NYC including their Jitney service and I thought the town is very charming. We found this house we really like so it's now under atttorney review. Hopefully, it will go smoothly from here!!!
Thank you so much for your help!!!

Good luck in Maplewood, we lived there for a few years and adored it. Great people, great neighborhoods, really charming, it sounds like you appreciate what makes it different from the more typical suburb.
