I actually told hubbie the way the economy is going we should check out Puerto Rico....all the benefits of being a US territory and none of the taxes...just can't vote in the Presidential election...no big loss at this time..our two votes aren't going to make a difference...

Have my DIL's granny checking some things out for me next time she goes down there to visit her sister

Have you seen all the old/antique cars they still have ova there? is like going back in time, cars from the 40's and 50's. I've only been to D.R., P.R. & Haiti down there. Sadly no cuba for me, but my dad travels there from time to time.

Yes I have when ever I see current photos from there like when the hurricanes hit Cuba
Hemingway loved Havana and he is one of my fave authors..would love to see it...also where they have Che entombed....Che started out with good intentions but became side tracked...at least that's the take I got after reading "The Motorcycle Diaries".

Puerto Rico, for the most part, is very high crime though.... so think that out.

Don't get me started on Che, I don't know how a murderer gets so romanticized in our culture.

Old Havana is crumbling, which is really sad.
