Since Obama was elected, I've seen Booker all over the national news. I think he's positioning himself for a run in 2016. He'll probably take a run at the Governer's office or a Senate seat in the very near future to sure up his experience and national profile. It seems that the election of the first African-American POTUS has opened up a whole new level of possibility for young and upcoming African-American politicians. Watch out for Duvall Patrick and Adrian Fenty as well.
Still not much in advancing the city. ..it's still a crime infested hell hole
I know it can't be turned around over night ..I'm betting decades & decades

I think he's done some positive things considering what he inherited. He's not ready today but eight years is a lifetime in politics. Obama was a State Senator in 2003. Booker possess some of the same attributes. He's super intelligent, articulate, a community organizer and has a way of inspiring people. He inspired the people of Newark to oust Sharpe James after 20 years. He can use this as a way to play as the anti-establishment candidate. If he becomes Governer or Senator in the next 4 years without any major gaffes/scandals, I'll put his chance at POTUS at about 50%.
I have met him personally (he's a good friend of one of my relatives) and I was very impressed. That was about 11 years ago... well before he was Newark's mayor... but I could tell then that he had a lot of promise.

He's been in office what, a bit more than a year? Give him a chance.
